Wool Wraps – Wool Plant Ties | 10 Pack
Gentle, plastic-free, wool wraps support for growing plants
Wool Wraps are reusable and compostable wool plant ties made from 100% Australian wool. They provide soft, broad support for plants without introducing plastic-coated wire, synthetic string or nylon ties into your garden.
Use Wool Wraps to secure plants to stakes, trellises, arches and other garden supports. They are suitable for tomatoes, climbing beans, cucumbers, flowering plants, vines, roses, young trees and other plants that need a little extra support as they grow.
Why choose wool wraps wool plant ties?
Many conventional garden ties contain plastic, wire or synthetic fibres. These materials can be abrasive against stems and may remain in the garden long after they are no longer useful.
Wool Wraps offer a natural alternative. Their broad shape helps spread support across the stem rather than concentrating it through a thin piece of string or wire.
They are:
- Made from 100% Australian wool
- Soft and gentle against plant stems
- Reusable throughout the garden
- Compostable at the end of their useful life
- Completely free from plastic and wire
- Easy to adjust as plants grow
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor plants
- Easy to cut to the size you need
One wrap, plenty of possibilities
Each Wool Wrap measures approximately 50 cm long and 2.5 cm wide.
Use the full width and length for larger plants, young trees or heavier stems. For smaller plants, cut the wraps lengthways to create narrower strips or cut them across to make shorter ties. You can also cut them both ways when only a small tie is required.
This means one pack of 10 Wool Wraps can easily become 20 or more smaller plant ties, depending on how you use them.
How to use Wool Wraps
For general plant support:
- Position a stake or support beside the plant.
- Loop the Wool Wrap around the plant and its support.
- Tie it firmly enough to support the plant, but leave room for the stem to grow.
- Check and adjust the wrap regularly as the plant develops.
For added protection, use a figure-eight tie. Loop the wrap around the plant, cross it between the plant and stake, then loop it around the stake before tying. This creates a small buffer between the stem and the support.
When the tie is no longer needed, untie it and use it elsewhere. Once it reaches the end of its useful life, cut it into smaller pieces and add it to your compost.
